Started in 1946, Driscoll Construction Co., Inc. recently celebrated its 65th year in the general contracting business, and is now operating under its 4th generation of the Driscoll family.
The company was started by James N. Driscoll, specializing in tunnel and sewer construction. For many years, the company's focus was on hard and soft ground tunnels; large diameter sewers; reinforced concrete box sewers; sewer reconstruction under steady flow; cut-and-cover subway structures; sheeting and shoring; excavation; and pile driving.
As the years progressed, the company started to grow. The presidency of the company was passed from James down to his son, James N. Driscoll, Jr. In 1972, his youngest son Michael J. Driscoll became president. Mr. Driscoll continued the company’s growth and diverse projects in the area
The opportunity of larger projects allowed Driscoll Construction Co., Inc to expand into heavy highway bridge construction projects in and around the City of Philadelphia. Soon after, projects were being secured in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey for multiple commissions and authorities. In 2000, Michael J. Driscoll, Jr. became the president. He continues to seek new and challenging projects for the company to this day
Driscoll Construction Co., Inc., surpassing 65 years, is a general contracting firm specializing in the heavy highway construction of multi-span bridges; sound walls; retaining walls; concrete box sewers; utilities; sheeting and shoring; excavation; demolition; and pile diving.
